School buses are typically inspected two times each year.
Each year had 2 stickers, one for March expiration and one for September.

This is what happens when you remove the wax paper from a really old sticker.
The intention was that if it was moved from one vehicle to another, the word VOID would stay behind.
SCHOOL VEHICLE 1983-2013
Starting in 1983, the stickers changed to have the month number insert and read SCHOOL VEHICLE instead of SCHOOL BUS.

MULTI-PURPOSE BUS STICKERS 2013-
Starting in 2013, new BUS stickers were issued that were used for both commercial buses and school buses.

REJECTED
School buses get different REJECTED stickers - and if the problem is bad enough, they get an "Out of Service" sticker until the problem is fixed and the bus is re-inspected.
